Intel Xeon E5-2673 V4

Intel Xeon E5-2673 V4

Intel introduced Xeon E5-2673 V4 in 2016 which is a 64-bit microprocessor. It is designed for turbo boost frequency which is operating at 2.3GHz. However, the MPU of this server has a TDP of 135W which is manufactured on a 14nm process based on Broadwell.

Intel Xeon E5-2673 is also known as Broadwell which is equipped with multi-socket server space. Similar to all other EP cores, Broadwell-EP also has bigger parts which offer more cores, more cache, more bandwidth along with more server-focused features.

Talking about an advantage of Xeon E5-2673 V4 processor – it has more core for better multi-threading performance. Also, at the same time, this processor can execute more threads which are clocked at 2.30GHz. Now moving towards its drawbacks, the base frequency is lower as compared to previous E5-2673 v3 processor. Meanwhile, the processor also requires more power for better performance.

Specification of Intel Xeon E5-2673 V4:

Processor Intel Xeon E5-2673 v4
Frequency 2300 MHz
Maximum Frequency 3500 MHz
Cores 20
Threads 40
TDP 135 W
Codename Broadwell EP
Package FCLGA2011-3

However, the microprocessor uses the same architecture and socket as Intel E5-2673 v3 and Xeon E5-2673 v4, But their characteristics and performance are quite different.

Xeon E5-2673 V4 has several features which make this processor more attractive for virtualized servers. People who are unaware of virtualization, it is a key to fast-growing cloud services for eg Amazon, Digital Ocean and etc. That’s the reason most of the businesses run their application in a virtualized way.
